EDIT: Thanks for all the retweets, etc - I'm now mostly sorted for video game panels (but drop me a line if you're happy to be kept in reserve), sorted for new 52 but could take more volunteers and also anyone interested in crowdsourcing/alt funding models for publishing. If none of that fits but you want to volunteer anyway, please fill out the volunteer form.

I'm after some panelists for specific panels. If you fit any of the following panels, please leave a comment here/drop me a line at olympus at lizbatty dot co dot uk:

Women who are interested in the DC New 52 comics

Women who would like to talk about classic SF videogames, or storytelling in videogames

Anyone for a discussion of alternate funding models in publishing - Kickstarter, Peerbackers, crowdsourcing your own funding

Anyone who could contribute to a discussion of the fantasy and supernatural elements of the works of Shakespeare and his contemporarites

Women who would like to talk about classic SF videogames, or storytelling in videogame

*raises hand* ooh, pick me, teacher!! :)

Ace! Can you drop me an email so I can connect LJ name to badge name, please? :)

Ok, um... I've sent a mail to programme@olympus2012.org - is that the right one?

I might be interested in the Shakespeare one, although I'd have to brush up a little (oh, the hardship). It's been a while...

I seem to have a few other interested parties so this is quite likely to go ahead - can you send me an email at the address in the post? I need to connect LJ name to badge name...

I may not be able to do it after all - not absolutely confirmed that I'm going. :(

Any particular games and period of gaming? I've been pixel bashing snce the 80s.

There's a panel on forming the SF videogame canon which should cover a wide range of games and time periods, if that sounds good?

So we could go right back to the Namco film tie-ins and suchlike as well as right up to date with things like Skyward Sword. OK. I think that could be fun.

Indeed, although I was hoping to stick a bit more to the SF side of things, as there's so many fantasy games that adding them in as well might make it unmanagable to discuss in an hour. Can you drop me an email at the address in the post to let me know what your badge name is?

Not a problem. Get me onto the Fallout series and I can talk for England.

I think I'll point [info]julia_winolj at the Shakespeare one and see what she says.

Shame - I really want to see the crowd sourced funding one but not an expert. Unbound Bks,thats who u want, also Cory will know Stuff, I imagine..

Does having contributed to publications count as having expertise?

It could do - basically if you think you have interesting things to say about the experience of non-trad publishing, then I'm happy to give you a slot, you don't necessarily have to have gone through the process although that would be nice. If your experience was much the same as contributing to traditional published works, then a bit less interesting for the panel.

I have a fantasy novel set in an alternate history Elizabethan London coming out just before Eastercon, so I'd love to be on the Shakespeare panel.

You can contact me via my website: http://www.annelyle.com

If you still need someone for storytelling in video games, I could have a go.

(Of course, this entails working out exactly what you do on a panel...)

I'm now quite well off with panelists for that one - if you'd like to be backup then drop me a line.

(Being on a panel involves, essentially, talking about your opinions and thoughts on a particular topic, guided by a moderator who keeps the discussion going. So having opinions and being able to express them when sitting on a panel in front of people is basically what you need.)

Hi! I'm a woman interested in the DCnU, I wouldn't mind being on a panel about it :-D does it matter if I'm a relatively new comics fan?

No, in fact that would be an interesting perspective if we have long-term and brand-new DCU fans together. Send me an email/LJ message/twitter DM?

If you still need someone for the crowdsourcing panel, I can pick people's brains and present the results (possibly with live coms to one of the people in question, depending on timing).

Could offer theatrical historical perspective of Shakespeare and contemporaries.

Aghglh. I'd be a really good panelist for the DCnU and crowdfunding items. I wonder if I should hang good sense and go to the con...

Join us. Joooooiiiin ussssss!

(Ahem, sorry, couldn't resist. :-D)

You should! But I would obviously say that. I could definitely use you on the crowdfunding one, I'm doing quite well on that particular comics panel but I have others that can take extra people, so if you do make a decision, please drop me a line at the address in the post.

It's looking fairly likely I might end up going. I'll let you know in the next day or two, if that's soon enough?

Yes, that timeline is fine - thanks!

Sorry for the delay, but I'm now definitely going to Eastercon and would still love to be on the crowdfunding panel & any others you might have open! Emailing now! :)

Hope you have lined up [info]mizkit on crowdfunding!
